Maybe it's just me, but I find that the 747, unlike the 380, has a uniquely high level of elegance and gravitas. Seeing one of these in the air, especially close up, leaves one with goosebumps and a feeling of awe. The 380 is basically 'just big'. True, it's an engineering marvel but without the art in design seen in the 747 in all its iterations.
