BOEING B17F - 110 - BO, CN 5709, # 42-30595.
Ex 560 BS/377 BG "Olins'S 69" then "Gremlin Gus II".

Aircraft were called "roadsters", when unloaded with explosive and stripped down of guns and armor, very fast. Test pilots would seek out and pass allied aircraft and salute from the open cockpit, aviator scarf flying. Particular prey were stock B24 crews who often bragged to the B17 crews about being faster. This was the one and only "war story" my father would ever share.
