Adelaide has never had the variety of airlines enjoyed by other states but in 1989 Australian pilots went into dispute with the local airlines, grounding just about all domestic services. In order to get people moving both Ansett Airlines and Australian Airlines were able to lease aircraft from overseas airlines. Among others, Ansett got the services of two B733s from America West, this one and N166AW and those times saw some interesting aircraft in and out of Adelaide including RAAF transports operating for Australian Airlines (government airline in those days).

Thanks Darryl. We saw this and 166 here a number of times - good times while they lasted - for fans that was, passengers didn't care as long as they got to where they were going.
