VICKERS Viscount (C-FTHL)
This is Air Canada Viscount CF-THL being readied to leave Ottawa for Montreal in late summer of 1973. Photographs by Alfred Holden. Viscount service was winding down, at the time. As a teenager I somehow rounded up the fare to fly Ottawa-Montreal (Viscount) and Montreal-Burlington Vt. (Allegheny BAC-1-11) a couple of times, to visit family. All the pictures appear to be from the same trip - the aircraft, the tail, the view from my seat, the interior with flight attendant, luggage being unloaded in Montreal, plus my window seat (and a big window it was). As you can see, by this time these had four abreast seating and felt very roomy to fly in, a full-sized cabin carrying only about 40 people. Taken with my Kodak Instamatic, so not so sharp, but perhaps a nice set for folks to look at -- a Vickers Viscount near the end of its front-line service. These had been a real workhorse for Air Canada. I attempted to post the details in the appropriate field but was unable, so here's the data in the comment.
