July 29, 2017 An Antonov 74TK-100 cargo plane UR-CKC was damaged beyond repair in an accident at São Tomé Island Airport (TMS), São Tomé and Príncipe.
The aircraft suffered a bird strikes during the takeoff roll on runway 29 (2190 m long) and the flight crew aborted takeoff. The aircraft failed to stop on the remaining runway and went down an embankment, coming to rest next to the perimeter fence. The forward fuselage broke just in front of the wings. The thrust reverser on the no.1 engine was stowed and on the no.2 engine the reverser was deployed. There was no fire.
