Constructed as a 1944? North American A-36 / P-51/F-51 Mustang.
The A-36 was powered by the Allison 1710 and deployed as a dive bomber;

It wasn't until the -D model that the bubble hood became available;
many pilots regarded the Malcolm-hooded P-51B/C as the best of the entire series. It was lighter, faster, and had crisper handling than the bubble-hooded P-51D and actually had a better all-round view.
