I assume it has been repainted into the new United color scheme, but the FAA says the bird still flies.

N475UA came into DFW,(where I work) a few weeks ago and I was in right place to get pix. Unfortunately I lost phone a few days later before I backed them up.That has always been my favorite United livery.
On another note, I realy wish United would come up with a new scheme design instead of just slapping there name on Continentals. When I see one I still say Continental instead of United. Continental was a all time favorite growing up, in particular tha "Golden tail"scheme of the 70,s through 80,s. That was a liverie! It paons me there gone, and seeing that tail logo, with United on fuselage u st dosent work. Anyone know if they are considering there on individual new shceme, and would like to here other opinions on this.

Andrew, this is a stunning shot! She looks like she's in the middle of a park!

This is the legacy paint scheme as voted on by the employees of United Air Lines. N475UA an A320, is the only aicraft painted in this scheme and has been out in the system now for at least five years. There is one B737 painted in the leagacy Continental Scheme but it is not the Golden Tail. I have seen it around the system and I believe it is from some time in the late 1950s Continental era. 4275 has a nice plaque on the first class divider at door 1L describing the paint scheme. Too bad the number one engine cowl was replaced and not repainted to match the silver paint on the rest of the bottom half of the aircraft. The silver looks very good close up. I've had the pleasure of flying this airplance at least three times.

Continental, the proud bird with the golden tail a.k.a. the loud bird with the brass ass.
United's Mainliner scheme was dropped (mainliner can be street for heroin injection) the Saul Bass designed big U on the tail and the three color blue, red, orange scheme which was award winning at the time. This is simply a nice look back at nostalgia. UAL has no plans for a new scheme at this time.
