Fantastic shot there Frank! Long lens for that one?
Thank's Mark! It's one of my favourites. I shot this one, using the Canon 100-400mm, with a Canon 60D, body. Being a cropped sensor the 60D gave me that extra zoom reach, requiring very little cropping of the image. If you ever get to London Heathrow, make your way to the right side of runway 27R at sunset, just before a Hotel, I forget it's name. Position yourself around where the Heavies rotate and with a 400mm lens you should be able to get similar shots. The shot is edited using LR5 and Photoshop CC6. There is a very good Youtube clip Edit Aviation Photography, by Andre Nordheim, explaining his work flow using aformentioned photo software.
Wow you look just like flying with it!
Great shot any closer and you could count the rivets!
...great
Very well done!
COOL
Thanks, Yi, John, Marcel, Greg and Renato!
Yes Yi, the angle gives that impression, but lucky for me the aircraft had a very shallow climb out, she must have been real heavy and going extra long haul, either that or a major derate of the RR engines on take off.

That flex tho!
