First Flight from Russian Georgia Lands in Sochi for Olympics

Today marked an historic day for Russian aviation and politics as the Olympics approach. A first flight from Georgia to Sochi in more than 10 years brought four Georgian Olympic officials to the upcoming Winter Games.

Regular flights between Russian Georgia and Russia were canceled when a brief war between the two nations broke in Aug. 2008 and there were no flights to Sochi dating back to before the fighting. There have been occasional flights between Georgia's capital, Tbilisi, and Moscow since 2010. (sports.yahoo.com) More...
