Carriers based in Europe must pay the additional carbon tax on intra-Europe flights aggregate the traffic for ling haul flights from their hubs. Airlines based elsewhere will fly directly into European cities from their overseas hubs, without paying the additional tax.

At this rate, they'll have a greater proportion of foreign airlines servicing their markets. And they'll be selling these foreign carriers subsidized airliners that will increasingly be made by robots.
Can anyone explain their madness?
