The president of Russia Vladimir Putin signed a decree allowing Russian airlines to fulfill their financial obligations to foreign-registered companies in rubles. Doesn’t really matter what Russia wants, it’s what the contract states but then again when has Russia ever honoured a contract. My guess the aircraft owners will consider the aircraft total losses and put in for insurance. Then the repo guy can go and get them….maybe?

You would have to fill a 747 freighter full rubles to pay a months lease on one plane. The ruble being worth less than a penny!

At the rate the ruble has dropped, more likely they’d need that poor destroyed AN-225.
