None of my loved ones are foolish enough to not be vaxxed and I distance myself from friends who are not, although they are very few in number. Do you not see the dilemma to exercise your 'rights' vs the 'greater good'? I suppose those who place individual choice over greater good will never appreciate the problem.

3/4 million dead in the US, when will people wake up? Right to choose comes with consequences and affects others, same with freedom of speech...say what you like, just have to deal with consequences.

The more anti-vaxxers....the fewer anti-vaxxers. "Over the next year or so the unvaxxed will get infected, survive to natural immunity or die, I'm easy about both outcomes." Perfectly stated JB! My only problem is with the hospital bed the unvaxxed will use for a time which could have been avoided in 99%+ cases.

Buffalo Airways flies daily C-47, Electra, and DC-3 flights. Another DC-3 (PT6 engines) flies over my place almost daily doing survey work. 737-200's are buzzing around people to mining outposts. Not news.

I fear you may be 'near the end' Tim if you don't get on board with science and facts. You also have the right to not fly on United (I wouldn't want to be sitting next to you anyway) or do business with any company that mandates vaccines. You probably should not send your kids to schools that require mandatory vaccines for polio, chicken pox, diphtheria, measles, etc, you know - like we all did as kids and no one squawked about it then - but now your rights are somehow being infringed, it's nonsense. But, as always, in a free society entitled to your opinion of facts, and you have the 'right' not travel to anywhere that requires vaccines.

Hi Dennis - I must comment that people who choose to live near an airport should perhaps not be complaining about the noise. The airport has been there for almost 100 years, it's not like it showed up after people moved to the island. If it is a mental health issue as you suggest, then maybe it's time to move to a home that's not near an airport? The e-jets are quieter (IMHO) than the piston and turbo-prop aircraft in general, something that does not seem to be clear to the folks who are preventing the development of the airport.

E-195 E2 range is about 2600nm so Europe is likely not on the table unless they're doing YHZ-GLA (2200nm) or something like that. Also disappointed to see they won't be getting C-Series (aka A220) or flying out of Toronto Island. The 'NIMBY' folk around the island airport seem to think Q400's are somehow quieter than modern E-jets, I would love to see the data on that.

You don't have to wear a mask...and the airline is not required to let you on the plane without one. Simple choice you can make, fly or not fly. Enjoy your 'freedom' to make foolish decisions, just don't expect others to make exceptions for you.

I showed up at Mojave KMHV ~2006 and asked for a tour, the nice gentleman (security) told me there are no tours and no public allowed in...but if I happen to be around the back door in 10 minutes with $20 falling out of my pocket something good might happen. He turned out to be a retired air force pilot and we drove around the field in his van for over an hour. I could have just talked to him for days the stories he had, never mind the gems in the boneyard. The 'Gimli Glider' had just arrived for scrapping (after attempts to preserve her failed), he didn't know the story so I shared it with him. His stories were way better. Best $20 I ever spent.
