F-22 Raptor Does A Loop On Its Axis Performing The Elusive Falling Leaf
Submitted
Talk About Stability. It's no secret the F-22 Raptor is one of the most maneuverable, if not THE most maneuverable fighter aircraft in the world. A strong case could be made that fourth generation Sukhoi and MiG aircraft also have thrust vectoring and could do the same, but there's really no way of telling which is better. One thing's for sure though. The Raptor looks great when it does it. Link direct to video https://youtu.be/P8zPh8kAcAU (frontlinevideos.com) More...Piggyback B-17 Bomber
Submitted
The amazing story of a World War II pilot, Capt. Glenn Rojon, whose B-17 bomber collided in mid-air with another B-17 and became locked to it in piggy-back fashion. The pilot kept control to allow crew members to bail out then he and his co-pilot guided the crippled craft to a crash landing that destroyed both planes, but they survived with no major injuries! Warbird legend, Bill Harrison tells the story. (www.flyingmag.com) More...Messerschmitt Bf-109 that was found in a Russian lake & recovered by Jim Pearce

This aircraft was built in 1939 and known to have flown in the Battle of France and the Battle of Britain. In early 1942 it was delivered to the Eastern Front by Arthur Mendl whereupon it was flown by the highly decorated German Pilot Wulf-Dietrich Widowitz (36 victories). On April 4th of 1942 Widowitz was shot down by a Soviet lend-lease (rather, in reality “lend-keep”) Hurricane whilst on an escort mission. Hits to his engine were observed followed by a forced, near perfect, wheels-up landing… (www.warhistoryonline.com) More...SpaceX lands Falcon 9 rocket on a barge.
Submitted
At 4:47 a.m. this morning, SpaceX attempted what could have been a revolutionary feat: launching a Falcon 9 rocket and landing part of the vehicle on a floating platform in the Atlantic Ocean. The lunch was success, but the landing was a bit... rough. "Rocket made it to drone spaceport ship, but landed hard. Close, but no cigar this time. Bodes well for the future tho." — Elon Musk (www.popsci.com) More...Pilot executes amazing one wheel landing

The unconventional landing occurred at the Sonoma Air Attack Base in California. (youtu.be) More...Delta loses Westminster show dogs
Submitted
We may finally have an answer to one of modern life’s more enduring questions. No, not one about the meaning of life or our place in the universe, but the query posed more than a decade ago by those modern day Bahamian philosophers The Baha Men. Who let the dogs out? Delta Airlines, allegedly. A group of show dog owners who were flying home from the Westminster Dog Show claimed that the airline lost their precious (and prestigious) pets at New York’s JFK airport. The beyond-angry owners said… (roadwarriorvoices.com) More...Battle of Britain Bunker - in pictures
