McDonnell Douglas DC-10 (N152AA) - LAX March 1989- in LAX for my first visit to the airline collectible show that spring, I was tipped off of 3-4 good places to take jet photos while at LAX I had a pick up truck and 8ft ladder to clear the fence line. This was known as the Fed Ex lot at the end of Douglas Ave fairly open and I fully expected to get thrown out but was never hassled here at all. One of the highest nose attitudes I saw in years past was the DC-10 and L-1011s nose high touchdowns and this 25L smoker did not disappoint, Ln 61 with AA here, but was delv new to National Airlines as N65NA in Oct 1972, and later sold to Pan American to be "Clipper Silver Star" American bought this in June 1984..photo here March 1989 and then this DC-10 snuck over to Hawaiian Airlines June 1994.FedEx bought this for spares in Oct 2002. Funny, in 2024, I now help run the "new" LAX airline collectible show...who knew?
