Yes, agreed pilot error, but this was a tough one. I wonder if fatigue played a factor? It can cause a pilot to 'tunnel think' and not consider other options.

I have MANY hours of working on the DASH 8 100... It has one of the strongest gear in the industry... To cause one to fold because of a hard landing is almost unbelievable.

It has too. The damn things are impossible to land consistently well.
