looks like perhaps the engine was experiencing a disruption of airflow over the fan blades. Certainly in need of an overhaul! 30 foot flames?? Where?

Sounded more like a compressor stall. Just why it was stalling couldn't tell. As to 30"flames; must of done the conversion wrong from metric to standard. lol

@Tool - probably right. 30 centimeters? Which is like 12 inches. More realistic.
