I never understood Dornier's stubborness in designing "new" amphibian aircraft which are nothing more than the same old, inefficient designs of the 30s selling only a few units causing losses to the company in the tens of millions of dollars. Instead of splurging that money they should have invested in really new desigs having appeal and a market for.
