Severe hard landing stranded Malaysia Airlines jet in Melbourne
A severe hard landing by a Malaysia Airlines A330 at Melbourne Airport has kept it stranded there for the last 10 days pending inspections, any necessary repairs and now, an investigation by the Australian Transport Safety Bureau. (blogs.crikey.com.au) More...Sort type: [Top] [Newest]
I find it a bit odd that an aircraft suffers a hard landing but no inspection has been done for ten days. Any hard landing that exceed 2 m/sec is subject to inspection before further flight. FAA and I would say the Australian equivalent requires a rigorous inspection. This is usually done by airline maintenance supervised by FAA inspectors. Is it Malaysia dragging its feet or politics?
