Well I had never seen this before. So thanks for posting it. The article said that he went super sonic but the airspeed indicator only flirted with 700kias for about a second before the recovery. Still a cool video of technology in action.

This incident wad the fourth confirmed save by Auto-GCAS. I believe there have been two more since this incident. NASA Armstrong & the USAF are particularly proud to have developed this technology. https://www.nasa.gov/centers/armstrong/Features/Auto-GCAS_Installed_in_USAF_F-16s.html

Yikes! Sorry! It just came across an aviation news feed to which I subscribe. Shoulda checked the date. I thought the video had just been declassified, but that was over a year ago too!
